When my company moved into its new office we were pleased when we heard that BT had been chosen as the business broadband provider for the building. This initial sentiment soon faded however, and several weeks after trying to book the service, we are still without broadband.
In itself, a few weeks wait would have been cause for concern, but it gets worse! BT have twice booked a day to come and setup the connection, and unfortunately both times they have failed to show.
The first time we were informed that ’someone’ had called and cancelled the arranged appointment, which is simply not true.
The second time, yesterday (7th Aug 2008) BT were expected at 9am. At 10.30 aprox, BT were called to see where their engineer was. At that point, BT said the time would be between 9am and 1pm. This would have still been reasonable. At 12.30aprox. BT were contacted again, at which point they said there had been an error, and we had not, despite the previous conversations earlier that day showing to the contrary, been booked in for a visit. This, they said, was an error on their part.
We are now told they will have to re-book us an appointment. BT have been informed that we need a visit this week, ideally in the next 48hours, or Ofcom will be contacted.
I will update this entry with details of when BT manage to sort the connection, to help others decide if the level of customer support is acceptable with this company.
If anyone from BT would like to contact us about this is the meantime, please email us (info@kingpin-seo.co.uk)
UPDATE to all the people that emailed asking what was happening with this: We have now been contacted by a BT representative, who says they will try to sort this out.
I will update post updates here as and when anything happens
