2008 – Officially a Record Year For Theatre Ticket Sales

January 30th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

theatre ticket sales
The Society of London Theatre have announced 2008 as a record breaking year. It is said that well over thirteen million people visited London theatre shows, and spent over £480 million, which is a one percent increase on the previous years figures.

The president of SLOT, Nica Burns, seems to attribute this level of sucess to the wide range of shows avaiolable, from Mamma Mia to the Jersey Boys, not to mention the appearance of stars such as David Tennant

“You’ve just got to look at what’s on across the West End to see why it’s a really strong.”

SLOT failed to mention the visitor and revenue details of specific shows, and both the society and London theatre houses in general are said to be ill inclined to sharing the ins and outs of their financial matters, whereas in the US, the associated finances and ticket sale figures are made public on a weekly bases.

Not all of the UK theatre companies are so cagy about their revenue details, for example, Cameron Macintosh recently announced that revenue the advanced sales of tickets for the show Oliver breat all the previous shows.

Credit Rating Check

January 28th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Managing your finances can be tricky at the best of times, in the current climate it can seem impossible. If the financial ebb and flow of the month leaves you struggling just before payday a credit card can be a good buffer and, if paid off before next payday, a cheap form of borrowing. Asking for a credit card or an increase in your credit limit might seem like a foolish idea at the moment, but the lenders still need to lend, so if you are a responsible borrower there should be little to worry about. Though, if you aren’t sure, or have had difficulties in the past it is best to be certain before you approach any lender. It is not well publicised, but if you apply for credit with a poor score and are declined, this can further adversely affect your credit score. The best advice would be to perfom a Credit Rating Check, then you will be aware of any problems and, if you feel there is a discrepancy, you can often amend your file though if the request is refused you can still add a ‘notice of correction’ and supporting material to your file which may have a significant bearing on any future credit applications. A single request to view your file will cost between £9-12 though several of the credit rating agencies like Equifax and Experian also offer a free trial.

body-detox-300x200

Many people complain of tiredness, arching bones, bloating, general fatigue and sluggishness. All too often people just accept this as the norm, feeling that they are ‘just getting older’. The fact is, however, that learning how to cleanse (or detox – detoxify) your body, and following a few basic principles at least once a year can help rejuvenate, and re-energise your body and mind.

Many health experts feel that toxin build-up in our bodies can contribute to a wide range of ailments, from cancer to heart disease.

Even the healthiest amongst us will undoubtedly suffer from a build-up of toxins in our bodies. It is a fact that the modern world we live in has more toxins in both the air and food than what is considered natural, so to some extent we cannot avoid this toxic intake completely. What we can do, however is change our diet a little, and regularly clean out the toxins that have built up.

How to Detox Your Body

Learning how to detox body needn’t be a chore, help is at hand, and one of the best places to find this help is online.

These days there’s a plethora of websites offering all manner of ‘detox diets’ and cleansing plans, and whilst initially this may sound great, it does make it harder to find ‘cut through the chaff’ and find sites offing good, sound advice.

So how do you know where to go to find the best solution for you?

Finding The Right Detox Diet For You

Because of the wide variety of websites and detox diets, it may be best to try to find somewhere that can gives you advice about a wide variety of diets and techniques all in one place.

Such a site is detoxyourbodytoday.com. On this site you can find loads of great information about how and why your body becomes toxin saturated, and how best to move forward to cleanse yourself, and regain the energy and vest that you desire.

While there are a lot of ways to detox your body, some diet requires drastic changes to the way you live your life and this is a deciding factor on whether you will be able to succesfully complete a detox program. Diets that require drastic changes to your lifestyle will make it hard for you to follow the diet and causing you to opt out before reaching the end. So, it is especially important to choose a diet that is not too extreme and one that you are able to follow.

Detoxyourbodytoday.com provides information, guide and tips on body detox to help you to choose the right detox diet for you.

Only 15% of UK households compare energy prices

January 24th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Dour financial news was the ignominious end to 2008 after pre-winter warnings of big price rises for energy. Though, according to Which? only fifteen percent of households in Britain have switched energy supplier in the last twelve months.
It is obvious that the colder the weather the more energy you use. The more energy you use the higher your fuel bills. And, with energy prices, at best unstable and at worst unstable and steadily increasing it is surprising that more people are not scouring the market to keep the house warm and the costs down.

Of those customers who did switch their supplier or price plan, ninety percent said they found the switch was easy to make and most of them used the internet to find their deals. A site like EnergyChoices.co.uk allows consumers to compare energy prices of all the suppliers and choose only those that are available by searching using postcode. The rise of comparison websites has had a massive effect on the numbers of consumers switching their supplier to get the most relevant terms and value. Most of the comparison sites succeed because they provide all the most up-to-date information so all the relevant suppliers deals can be assessed at one time, cutting through the leg-work and the small print to make a switch easy, painless and good value. As a bonus, the best sites also host articles by the professionals to help bust the jargon and have experts on-hand to answer any tricky questions. And, as OfGen’s figures show you could save more than £100 by switching supplier maybe more consumers will take the cue and get switching.

Other seasonal advice to help ward off unexpected costs suggests regular servicing of the boiler or heating insurance like British Gas Homecare – like many of the boiler insurance policies available, provision is made for regular servicing as well as parts, labour and call out if your boiler breaks down. And, given the cost of boilers and plumbers this is one insurance policy well worth investigating.

In Texas opportunities for an unforgettable fishing trip abound in fresh or saltwater, from wade fishing, kayak fishing, bay fishing or offshore, anglers are sure to have an unforgettable fishing trip when visiting the Lone Star State.

Mortgage Protection Cover?

January 21st, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

In uncertain times it is always advisable to use whatever security is available to mitigate the tribulations that life throws at us. In some ways it’s unimportant what the ‘credit market’ is doing as we still need to buy food, pay the mortgage or buy your first house. So what do the changes to the global credit system mean for us? Although it will undoubtedly be more difficult to obtain credit or a mortgage, the financial institutions that specialise in credit will have to keep lending or close up shop. This suggests that they will be avoiding high risk ventures and looking for more security. You can tip the scales in your favour by aiming to be one of the customers the lenders are looking for. Step one would be get your facts and figures straight before you make contact.

Compare the market using a comparison site like Creditchoices.co.uk work out which products you are interested in or can afford, use their mortgage calculator to do the sums and their database to check for the most up-to-date products. Once you have selected the realistic options consider Mortgage Protection Cover so in the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances your home isn’t at risk.

What Happened to Solar Powered Phones?

January 20th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Two years ago we were promised a solar powered version of the Motorola lazr. It never arrived, And it is a little known secret that several mobile phones including the lazr can be charged using a usb connection. Is there a tiny consiracy abuzz to keep us all buying 20 GBP chargers? Not really, most smart phones can charge while downloading information and music. Still socket power remains the system of choice to charge up our mobile devices.

Don’t look for any purely recharged by the sun mobile phones to appear. The best one can expect are more hybrid systems such as that offered by Solio. These allow for power to be stored from either the wall or the sun into an intermediate battery that will in turn transfer juice to our Blackberry. The Solio system uses a rather large and antiquated solar panel to build the charge within it’s battery.

The system provides 14 minutes of talk time for each hour it sunbathes. But that is not on a modern brightly lit LCD so, in truth, you might need to charge your Solio for half a day to operate your iPhone for half an hour. This device is the one you want if your name is Gilligan and you plan on taking a three hour tour. Barring that, plug your Blackberry into the wall every night. The stock Blackberry powerstation will fully charge the phone in 45 minutes. The USB connection only takes two hours.

What if everyone shared their wifi?

January 20th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Many people are switching to home WiFi or wireless broadband. Wifi is fabulous. There are free locations with connection speeds of 11 MBps. Of course you have to find the location and that can be a trial when on the road. Yet there are ten million WiFi locations and the trend of course is for WiFI to be free. There is a free download available that searches an area for you providing a list of nearby WIFi locations. For instance did you know that in the United Kingdom almost every McDonald’s has free WiFi. And what of all the wireless broadband people have in their homes. Some of this is unsecured. Now it is considered a pretty rude thing to piggyback onto someone elses WiFi with out permission.

But what if you had permission? What if everyone simply shared their WiFi so that no matter where anyone was we could all stay connected. This is the hopeful premise behind WeFi a free service dedicated to listing free WiFi spots all around the world. So far WeFi has collected 10,000,000 WiFi hot locations. Unfortunately most of the locations are securely locked leaving the concept of WeFi limited to a process That windows does anyway. the WeFi program is a bit of a pill also as it wants to remind you every 3 seconds that there are no connections available. Still the idea has merit. If everyone were to set up a WiFi broadcast then everyone would have access anywhere they were. But who will pay? Is my neighbour going to buy Broadband if I am sending it out for free? For now it appears WeFi is an idea who’s time has not arrived.

Credit in 2009?

January 14th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

The worry for many at the start of 2009 is job security and enough cash to pay the bills. Whilst it is the government and business’ responsibility to safeguard the infrastructure we all take part in, we must take responsibility for our own finances. But the much vaunted ‘Credit Crunch’/Global Recession/Financial crisis has turned the attitude of many towards the hysterical. However, unless the banks keep lending they will face the same fate as those who face redundancy. Loans and credit will still be available to those the banks consider to cautious or responsible borrowers.

If you can afford to meet the payments you make on your card, now is a good time to be using credit. Even if your credit score is currently patchy, consistently using a card responsibly in grim times will certainly help improve the credit score. And, if you can be strict enough never to spend more than you can clear in one go and always pay on time, then you don’t pay for the privilege.

Adverse Credit Cards?

Many people think if you have a poor credit rating, the only cards available would be adverse credit cards. They are known to charge interest rates of around 40% APR and unless you can be certain of clearing the balance every month they should be avoided as the interest will accrue at an alarming rate that can quickly become unsustainable.

Interest Free Credit Cards?

Despite difficult times many of the lenders are still offering interest free credit cards, they may be slightly more difficult to acquire and the terms are not as generous as the days of ultra-cheap credit, but the lenders will keep offering such cards as these days there will invariably be a transfer fee that ensures them a constant revenue stream. The credit might be being slightly crunched, but if you are a responsible borrower your use of credit is beneficial to the lenders and as such, encouraged.

Sonix7 – Great Offers On MP4 Players By Onda

January 13th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Sonix7 says smash those winter blues and put a tiny slice of technology in your pocket. With a January sale that’s lasting until the middle of February, there has been no better time to pick up an MP4 Player that’s tough enough to square up to the brand leaders, stylish enough to qualify as art and at a price that none can match.

Onda MP4 Players

MP4 Players are big business. We have become so used to music on the move that a weeks commute without would tip many over the edge. Some big brands have seen the trend and put alot of effort into turning personal music players into cutting edge audio/visual players. Traditionally such equipment would command premium prices with a definite style surcharge. Onda have bucked the trend in two important ways, they offer a range of stylish high quality devices that don’t cost the earth and they dial compatibility into their range the way the competition dial it out.

Onda’s flagship model the VX747, can handle most audio formats including MP3, WMA, WMA/VBR, APE, FLAC and AAC. It also singularly fails to be fazed by video formats RM, RMVB, AVI, DIVX, XVID, FLV, DAT, ASF, MP4, WMV, 3GP, MPG and SWF. All without the need to run any conversion software meaning you can share your files between different machines and operating systems. The hope is that Onda will lead the way in compatibility the way some manufacturers are determined to reduce it. With other features like a 3″ touch screen TFT display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 (widescreen ratio), 8Gb of internal memory that can be upgraded by a blistering 32Gb, an internal Li-Ion rechargeable battery that can offer up to 17 hours of music playback and some neat little extras like built in FM radio, voice recorder and onboard speaker should the dog ever eat your phones.

Visit www.sonix7.co.uk use their informative and intuitive site to order your VX on the secure pages and order before 3pm for next day delivery. They are that confident about their kit and their service, Sonix7 offer a 30 day, no quibble, money back guarantee.

Mortgage Calculator and 100% Mortgages

January 10th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Until very recently, 100% mortgages were more than common. Given house prices in the UK, most first time buyers, typically young couples, would be looking to 100% or even 110% mortgages that would allow them to purchase their desired property and be able to do any necessary renovations or buy the white goods many of us take for granted.

Although not trespassing too heavily on the sub-prime market, 100% mortgages were, and still are viewed as a more high risk proposition than a mortgage where the borrower has a larger equity stake. And, while the global recession is certainly having a cooling effect on the house price index, using the tradional- thrice your earnings mortgage sums, means that a mortgage is simply beyond the reach of a depressingly large percentage of the population.

So, it has been shown that the laisez faire approach leads the greedy to excess and the unwitting to unsustainable debt, it seems after a quiet christmas the watchword for the new year is caution. While many said that the banks wouldn’t be lending this year, they will. The governmet loans- read tax money- to keep the banks solvent were handed out on the understanding that funds would be available to those in need. Though, perhaps more importantly, as the major financial institutions make money from their loans, if they stop lending then their balance sheet starts to look precarious and secidedly unsustainable as a business model.

Though caution is not the prerogative of the financial powerhouses. It’s quite understandable that those with significant financial obligations are looking far more closely at the affordability of their lifestyles. And, while being cash-strapped is never a desirable situation; if it pushes more people to greater financial responsibility then once the worst of the recession is over, finance may be more stable. This can already be seen if you look to those who are buying houses in 2009- find the house, price it, run it through a mortgage calculator and if the numbers look good, then seek the loan. A better proposition than the buy-now-worry-later tendencies we were getting so used to.

Cheap Weekend Theatre Breaks

January 9th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

In recent years, flights and foriegn travel have been cheap and plentiful, giving many of us the opportunity to take our holidays when and where we please. As we really begin to feel the impact of the credit crunch/global recession we see businesses folding and redundancies in their tens of thousands. As a result, even those of us fortunate enough to remain gainfully employed are taking a good long look at our expenditure. Many of the airlines and tour operators are reporting sharp reductions in the number of flights and holidays booked for 2009. However, this may have a positive effect on the British leisure market. A number of British hotels and tour operators are reporting a significant increase in bookings for this year seeming to indicate that many who traditionally seek the sun for their annual break are looking again at what good old Blighty has to offer.

If the trend continues, it may be a good year for the domestic leisure industry, especially those who can combine the best of Britain with great value. With the rise of internet business we now look within our own borders for the best deals and offers and there are many to be had.

West End Theatre Breaks , a web based company with over twenty years experience in the market have built a business providing a one stop shop for an entertaining hassle-free weekend. By simplifying the process of organising a weekend in the ‘Big Smoke’ Westendtheatrebreaks can offer a magical experience and real value in one package.
A ticket to a top west end end show can cost between fifty and eighty five pounds and a good hotel from around a hundred pounds a night. Because Westend Theatre Breaks works closely with the theatres and the hotels, they are able to offer tickets for the show you want and with big discounts. With theatre and hotel packages from as little as fifty four pounds per person, you get to see the show, a high-quality local hotel and breakfast the following morning. So book cheap theatre breaks and get ‘the full monty’ with just a couple of clicks of the mouse.

Energy prices 2009

Before the ‘Credit crunch’ began to give us nightmares at the end of 2008, the big news was the volatility and extreme price rises in the oil and gas markets. Before Christmas we began to see fuel (petrol at the pumps) prices dropping from £1.15 to a distinctly more manageable £0.87 by the start of 2009. Although, the ‘Big Six’ energy suppliers seem somewhat more reluctant to pass these benefits back to the consumer. The waters have been significantly muddied by the dispute between Russia and Ukraine, which has caused a sharp- though probably short-lived- increase in the cost of a barrel of oil.

The government, however, has been quick to enter the fray warning the UK energy suppliers not to use the Russian dispute as an excuse for not passing price reductions back to householders. With such uncertainty likely to remain throughout 2009 it seems increasingly difficult for consumers to find out who offers the best value and who is trying to capitalise of the markets volatility.

The smart advice is to compare gas and electricity prices to see which supplier performs best in your area and who has already passed price reductions back to the end-users. There are many price comparison sites on the internet to help consumers get the best value and most people who switched their supply did so online. The advantages being, all the suppliers deals can be laid side-by-side for ease, the energy prices are regularly updated giving the consumer access to the hot deals as soon as they are available, and perhaps most importantly, most sites have expert advice and impartial articles to help bust the jargon and ensure the consumer is able to make an informed choice.

BROADBANDCHOICES.CO.UK COMMENTS ON THE ITV/VIRGIN MEDIA DEAL TO MAKE SOME OF ITV’S SHOWS AVAILABLE ON DEMAND TO VIRGIN MEDIA’S DIGITAL TV AND ONLINE SUBSCRIBERS

January 8th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Michael Phillips, product director, BroadbandChoices.co.uk said:

“We are encouraged to see that the deal encompasses Virgin’s online – as well as digital TV – customers since this provides additional utility for their broadband subscribers.

“Virgin’s high speed cable network certainly has the potential to allow broadband users to get the most out of this kind of online service.

“On demand content of this kind can really test a consumer’s broadband package in terms of speed and download limits due to the size of the programme files.

“We would encourage both ITV and Virgin to clearly inform online users of the potential impact to their service if they exceed their monthly download limits through heavy use of the on demand services.

“It’s important that customers know what their monthly download limit is so we would recommend using our free Broadband Download Monitor to track downloads and alert them as they reach their limit.”

Mortgage Protection Cover – What is it All About, And do I Need it?…

January 5th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

mortgage protection cover explained

The idea of a ‘job for life’ has for seen as a thing of the past for many years now, but due to the current credit crunch job security is at an all time low. This tends to cause people to fear the effects of unemployment, especially if they have a mortgage. The ultimate fear being an inability to pay the monthly installments and the threat of repossession.

What happens if I Can’t Make The Payments, Will Government Benefits help?

If you do find yourself one of the millions of unemployed UK citizens, then benefits are often available to cover your mortgage payments (or usually at least part of them). HOWEVER, normally you will have to be out of work for 9 months before you can make a claim for this help, by which time your household finances could be seriously in the red.

The government is reportably putting pressure on lenders to avoid repossesions wherever possible, and to arrange alternatives, this can only go so far.

One way that you can act pre-emtively is to investigate Mortgage Protection Cover…

Mortage Protection Cover – What is is?

Mortgage Protection Cover is a kind of protection policy designed to take effect if you are either made redundant, or fall sick (the actual terms may of course vary from policy to policy, be sure to compare your options) – Whilst most policies tend to only pay out for a 12 month period, policies are available that cover 24 months, but these may cost you more.

How to Take Our Mortgage Protection Cover, do I Have to Use my Mortgage Provider

It is a common misconception that you need to take out mortage protection cover with your mortgage provider, in fact, in November of last year (2008) the competition commision ruled that mortgage protection cover could not be sold with a mortgage anymore.

Your best bet would be to compare your options using a comparison site, such as creditchoices.co.uk. On this site, you will be able to read lots more about mortgage protection cover, and guage what option is best for you.

supermarket credit cards

January 4th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

When times are tight the savvy save whereas those of us who don’t do our research will inevitably end up paying more. It is now possible to save whilst spending. As contrary as it sounds it is now possible. All the major supermarkets now offer a credit card. In the past we have been offered ‘store cards’ by many high street retailers. Typically, they offered extremely poor credit terms and could only be used in store. The cards offered by the supermarkets these days are conventional credit cards and many also boast 0 balance transfers and interest free periods.

Where supermarket credit cards have something more to offer is in-store. Using a model popular with store cards and loyalty cards, if you use a store credit card in the store they offer ‘points’ that ultimately translate to savings. So, if you use one store for all your family’s weekly shop and use the store credit card then the savings could soon add up. Though it is unlikely to help with early retirement, in tight times any saving is welcome.
