Britons once again take to the road for May Day

April 30th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Last year 11 million citizens of the United Kingdom took to the road for the start of May weekend and bank holiday. This year with the fuel prices somewhat reduced even more are expected to hit the open road. We will all be tooling about in everything from Minis to Caravans seeking out our favorite spot. But before heading out, a few tips may be in order. The first is to perform a basic inspection of your vehicle.

If you drive a car, motorcycle or the aforementioned home on wheels a basic inspection of your vehicle’s engine, transmission and brakes can save you hours of time waiting roadside for assistance. The second to which is especially pertinent to those who fail to follow the first hint is to compare breakdown cover and make certain you are protected before you embark. The easiest way to do a breakdown cover comparison is to go online and avail yourself of one of the many quality cover information websites.

These websites are perfect for looking into the many features available for both car and motorbike breakdown cover. Options to consider are home start that allows for assistance within ¼ mile of your home, and tow home service which can range as anything from returning your car to your favorite local garage to towing your car home from a trip abroad. Another great feature to look into is onward travel cover. This particular feature allows for free car hire in the event of a mechanical failure so as not to spoil your holiday.

Beautiful Unspoilt South Devon Beach Near The Retreat

The warm weather of late has caused many of us to look to our holiday plans for the year. With more Brits staying in the UK for their holidays this year we are always on the lookout for something a bit special around the UK to excite and inspire the seasoned traveler. Detox holidays are just that. Raw Freedom, the Bristol based raw food guidance company, have announced additional places on their May, three day, retreat in South Devon. This wonderful news means that more people will be able to experience the rich and heady mix of total relaxation, raw food meals and demonstration classes, yoga and the beautiful South Devon countryside.

Beautiful Location for Detox Holidays

Saskia Fraser, one of the UK’s leading raw food guidance experts, said ‘We are so pleased to able to offer these extra places because the weekend is going to be transformative for those that attend. When we realised that we could comfortably accommodate more people it was a real thrill to realise that more of our clients could experience the fantastic results that will be achieved. I look forward to meeting everyone there.’

The Indoor Heated Swimming Pool

The itinerary of delicious raw food meals combined with yoga and complete relaxation can only be described as the complete antithesis to everyday life. The raw food detox process itself allows a deeper connection with the ‘you’ that gets put to one side, at home, everyday. When I visited the location last month I was bowled over by the accommodation on offer. From taking a swim in the indoor pool to walking along an unspoiled beach, I realised that it would be almost impossible to leave in other state than totally at peace with the world. Having left all ones cares well and truly behind a new you could have the chance to emerge, who knows what wonders could unfold in such a state?

Motorbike breakdowns may start as winter ends

April 17th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

United Kingdom motorcycle owners may be thrilled that winter has come to a close and they may pull all their precious two wheeled vehicles out from the garage into the air. But as with any vehicle that sits for time wear and tear may have ensued while being dormant. Traditionally motorbike breakdown cover sees a resurgence of sales as spring commences. And as with any breakdown cover type a breakdown cover comparison is a prerequisite before purchase. Web sites such as Breakdown Choices offer a complementary opportunity to compare breakdown cover on all types of vehicles including motorcycles. While the general assumption is that should the motorbike breakdown on route one could simply dismount and push the cycle to a better location. Certainly while tooling about within a short distance of your home this is true. But modern motorbikes are a valid form of transportation and as such often travel 50 to 100 kilometres away from their homes. Like there four wheeled counterparts motorcycles need breakdown cover that allows for tow home service. Unlike conventional automobile breakdown cover motorbike breakdown cover must provide for safe carriage of the cycle. With prices for more cycles sometimes reaching 10,000 pounds one can hardly afford to have such an investment carried in a sling and jostled about. Depending on one’s usage, one might opt to purchase this breakdown cover from a company that exclusively serves motorcycles or at the very least choose a breakdown cover company that specifically addresses safely towing motorbikes home.

Bundle services offer cheap phone deals

April 17th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

A complete review of home phone service available in the United Kingdom made with the assistance of information from the Home Phone Choices website, makes it very clear that unless one is interested in bundling home phone service with other telecoms products there are but two basic options to yield cheap phone calls available. The first of these is to sign a 12 month contract with one of the United Kingdom’s leading phone line providers that includes free nights and weekends and anytime calling. Generally speaking this will cost around 40 pounds per month. The second option is to find the lowest price for new phone line rental, which currently would be just over 10 pounds per month, and choose a contract with that low rate that gives one free nights and weekends calling. Then of course you must make a point of not using your existing phone line during daytime peak hours lest you incur costs of around 8p per minute. For those whose days are spent working elsewhere, there’s no reason not to go with the lower priced plan. Still the only practical way to pay almost nothing for your phone calls is to package home phone service, home broadband, and television channels into one bundle that best suits your requirements. Virgin Media offers a plan that combines all of these three and costs less than 35 pounds a month. The key to buying telecom services is to determine beforehand how much you will use of each and purchase based on that need. Don’t buy the largest bundle just because you will save money on paper. Buying in bulk only works when you need the larger quantity.

No commitment pay as you use dongles

April 17th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

The great thing about increased demand for products and services is that it lowers prices. Take for example dongles for laptops. These clever devices allow one to turn their laptop computer into a completely mobile workstation. But until recently these little gems were only available at a dear price or when purchased as part of a long term broadband contract commitment. Now, as so many UK consumers are trying out mobile broadband by means of pay as you go dongles plans, the demand for dongles has increased and the price has proportionately dropped. Dongles for use with pay as you go mobile broadband plans are available from T-Mobile and Vodafone for 20 and 25 pounds one off respectively. Certainly this represents a great way to connect to the internet from anywhere on a when required basis. But it is probably not the best value. The overall cost of pay as you go is still far higher than that paid when using a one month at a time deal. Such an offering from O2 includes the option of purchasing a dongle for just 10 pounds. There is really only one reason any of the United Kingdom’s leading mobile broadband providers offer pay as you go or no contract deals, That is because they hope upon using their service you will opt in for a lower rate at a longer term with a contract. This seems exceedingly fair, as one can completely test the service before signing up. And now that dongle prices have dropped to a realistic amount, anyone can afford to test the mobile computing waters. Once you have found the broadband provider you prefer you can then take advantage of that companies sign up incentives such as free laptop deals. Almost all of these include a free dongle.

Avoid rushing into broadband contracts

April 15th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

When advertising their products many companies go to great lengths to individualize their items so as to make a valid comparison almost impossible. You may notice this when shopping for products such as computers and printers. A few subtle changes in specifications and a new model number create a virtual apples and oranges comparison scenario. When purchasing important home communication services such as broadband the separation of this telecommunications product from other important services such as home phone and TV further isolates the pricing structure. Many companies use this device to make it appear that their prices are the lowest. Certainly this tactic works to defeat honest broadband comparison. To truly compare broadband pricing the service must be factored along with tremendous bargains found when combined with other essential services such as home phone. Because these services arrive by means of the same fiber optic or copper line and line rental charges are somewhat equal throughout the industry one must look for the greatest volume of savings by examining products across the board.
Fully 1/3 of all British telecom’s purchaser’s pay an average of 210 pounds extra per year by not combining the services into a one payment bundle. Considering that this 33% of UK consumers buy all of the services anyway it is amazing that the lower price structure is not taken advantage of. The reason for this is very simple, most UK telecoms customers are simply not aware of broadband reviews and comparisons available on the Internet for free.
These websites provide a wealth of information for free. Consider the process of switching broadband providers itself. If left to simply calling your company and asking for a switchover you might be left without internet for weeks simply because you did not have available your MAC code. This is special serial number attached to your broadband service. By having this number in hand your switch from one broadband provider to another or even to a broadband without phone line provider can be seamless.

Raw Food Classes Come to Bristol This Weekend

April 7th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Spring has definitely sprung this week, with the beautiful array of flowers and the lighter evenings, moods are shifting away from the winter gloom and looking forward to the summer. For many of us this time of year is about clearing out the house and our bodies. With months of eating winter stodge now behind us it is time to shed a few pounds and detox the system in time for the bikini months soon to come.

This weekend there is a fun packed day that has been designed to help you do just that. Raw Freedom, run by Saskia Fraser who is one of the UK’s foremost raw food coaches, will be holding a day of raw food exploration in Bristol. The day is aptly titled ‘Easily Raw’ and she insists that it is just what it says on the tin.

The ever growing popularity of raw food and the raw food lifestyle, in the UK, has led many toward better health, energy, skin and of course weight. The profound changes that many have had seem sometimes to be nothing short of astounding. Talking to those who have tried and now maintain a high raw diet has been an inspiring process. The one thing that most people say is that in the early days they had or needed access to someone to show them the basics and pass on the inspiration. That is exactly what this easily accessible day is designed to do. To inspire, teach and empower those that attend to take control of their own lives, changing that which needs changing and being proud of what is staying.

Raw food classes are the perfect way to experience the buzz that Raw Freedom has created around eating raw food. The fundamental raw food how to‘s are so much more when learned in a mutual environment with other likeminded people. A raw food preparation class is only part of the package though.

Saskia said today “I will be doing spot coaching in the afternoon to help identify the blocks that stop us from eating the way we really want. This is the other part of the puzzle; we need to identify our attitudes toward food and then shift those attitudes to ones that allow us to eat the way we want. We more often than not eat according to old and outdated patterns that were set in our lives years ago. Once these patterns have been cleared then we can go on to improve all areas of our lives.”

The event is being held in North Bristol and anyone wanting more information should contact Saskia@rawfreedom.co.uk.

Phone line providers charge 68p for ten minutes

April 6th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Both BT and Virgin Media have just announced new higher rates for spring. These two UK media giants have each raised both their line rental, connect charge, and cost per minute rates. Prices are now at such levels that a simple 10 minute call made during daytime hours will cost nearly 70p! Add another 10p for the prorated cost of line rental based on a hundred calls a month and we are quickly approaching half a pound for a phone call from your own home. It seems that United Kingdom phone line providers are insisting everyone sign up for anytime plans, as no one will want to pay these prices.

Further proof of the intent of the nation’s telecoms comes in the form of BT’s decision to begin night time rates at 7PM versus the previous start time of 6PM. It seems as if all these rate hikes fly in the face of the Come back to BT promotional image placed so heavily in 2009. When surveyed United Kingdom home phone customers repeatedly praised BT for service and reliability. The entire analysis and debate of which phone service to choose comes down to this.

If you make plenty of calls at all hours of day and night you had better have the most all inclusive phone plan available. And if you can bundle that plan with other telecom products like broadband and TV all the better. But if you are away from home during the weekday or if your world simply does not revolve around being tethered to a phone, basic plans allowing for cheap phone calls by way of free nights and weekends will serve you better.
