Talk Talk has reversed its position on charging incoming Tiscali customers higher rates for their broadband connections unless they opted to sign up for an extended term with Talk Talk. In a reversal of their earlier statements, Talk Talk, who merged with Tiscali late last year has agreed to honour all existing Tiscali contract offers and pricing that they inherited from Tiscali last year. A great deal of the Talk Talk motivation comes from the recently learned knowledge that Tiscali customers with time left on their contracts are not released from those contracts as a consequence of the Talk Talk, Tiscali merger. This means that both Tiscali customers and Talk Talk must honour the existing terms of agreements. Talk Talk had planned to add a 5 pound per month surcharge to incoming Tiscali accounts. Tiscali customers who were influenced by the proposed tariff increase will now be offered the opportunity to adjust their contract with Talk Talk accordingly and are being offered six months broadband service at half price by way of inconvenience compensation.
