Perhaps one of the best known and most revered of all oriental martial arts, Shaolin Kung FU can be a very rewarding martial art to train in.
Shaolin Kung fu (or Gong FU as it is sometimes referred to) will train the student to master both his/her body, and his/her mind.
Increased levels of fitness, a calmer and more meditative mindset, coupled with an increased ability to deal with almost any situation can all arise from good Shaolin training.
One of the big problems here in the west however, is how to find a good tutor. Personally, I have tried several different martial arts forms, along with quite a few different instructors, some better than others.
At the end of the day though, it is pretty hard to beat being trained under a 34th Generation Monk. That is what awaits anyone that takes a visit to the Shaolin Temple Gong Fu class in Bristol, and trains under Master Yan Xin.
Master Yan Xin studied at the Shaolin temple from the age of 8. At 19, he became a Shaolin master, specializing in Shaolin forms, Hard Qi Gong, Shaolin Weapons, and Sanda. Master Yan Xin has performed in many countries throughout the world, including performance watch by HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and has been a part of the ‘Wheel of Life’ tour.
If anyone is in any doubt whatsoever about the best place to train in Martial Arts in the Bristol or South West area, I suggest they contact the Bristol Shaolin Temple Gong Fu class as soon as possible. Their classes are very friendly, yet the skills taught are extremely powerful both for body and soul.
