Oliver! Theatre Tickets – Will You Be At The December Previews?

September 30th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Lionel Bart’s West End revival of Oliver! – Directed by by Rupret Goold previews this December. The show actually runs from 14th Jan 2009 at West End’s Royal Drury Lane Theatre.

Rupret Goold is an acclaimed director, and Rupert won the coveted Sydney Edwards Award for Best Director for his 2007 direction of Macbeth.

Amongst the cast for this show is Rowan Atkinson (starring as Fagin). In an unusual ‘twsit’ (Pun Intended!) the actors playing Oliver and Nancy will be decided by reality tv’s ‘I’d Do Anything’. – If that’s not a sign of the times, I don’t know what is!

Oliver! Has always have a place in the heart of England’s theatre goers, with the 1994 production playing over one thousand three hundred performances!. This run also broke the record at the time for the longest run of any show at the London Palladium.

The story of Oliver is seemingly timeless. There is, perhaps, something about the tale of a young boy, dragged into the criminal underworld of Dickensian London and struggling to make sense his life that will never fail to touch our hearts.

The stage version of Oliver Twist, by Lionel Bart, was first performed in London in 1960, and its success was instantaneous.

Oliver theatre tickets always seem to sell out quickly, and this show is expected to be no exception.

If you live outside London, or even if you simply feel like a weekend of luxury, then you may want to consider one of the Oliver theatre breaks that are available from www.westendtheatrebreaks.com

All that remains is to see whether the audiences that see Decembers previews are crying out “Please Rupret, Can I have some more…”!

Oliver Theatre Breaks Possibly Saves My Marriage!

September 10th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

My wife is a keen fan of the west end musical, as her birthday next year coincides with the run of the new production of Oliver I thought a nice treat would be catching a show in the big smoke . I had been pulling my hair out ever since. Trying to locate tickets is a distributed nightmare and so expensive! Living outside of London also means transport/accommodation dramas.

I was beginning to think it would have to be a bouquet of flowers and another new dress.
What with the youth raving about this new fangled internet business, I decided to chance my hand online and see if I could do more, sitting at home. And I found Oliver theatre breaks on offer on www.westendtheatrebreaks.com while the clue is in the title;

I have to admit to being quietly impressed. Suddenly, real-time availability was there at a glance and the choice of hotels (3-5*) real-world choice. In a matter of minutes the dates were booked as was the hotel and without resorting to the abacus, even I could see that theatre breaks in London was somewhat cheaper than trying to book separately myself. So it looks like next year, she shall be attending the ball.
