Raw Food Classes Come to Bristol This Weekend

April 7th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

Spring has definitely sprung this week, with the beautiful array of flowers and the lighter evenings, moods are shifting away from the winter gloom and looking forward to the summer. For many of us this time of year is about clearing out the house and our bodies. With months of eating winter stodge now behind us it is time to shed a few pounds and detox the system in time for the bikini months soon to come.

This weekend there is a fun packed day that has been designed to help you do just that. Raw Freedom, run by Saskia Fraser who is one of the UK’s foremost raw food coaches, will be holding a day of raw food exploration in Bristol. The day is aptly titled ‘Easily Raw’ and she insists that it is just what it says on the tin.

The ever growing popularity of raw food and the raw food lifestyle, in the UK, has led many toward better health, energy, skin and of course weight. The profound changes that many have had seem sometimes to be nothing short of astounding. Talking to those who have tried and now maintain a high raw diet has been an inspiring process. The one thing that most people say is that in the early days they had or needed access to someone to show them the basics and pass on the inspiration. That is exactly what this easily accessible day is designed to do. To inspire, teach and empower those that attend to take control of their own lives, changing that which needs changing and being proud of what is staying.

Raw food classes are the perfect way to experience the buzz that Raw Freedom has created around eating raw food. The fundamental raw food how to‘s are so much more when learned in a mutual environment with other likeminded people. A raw food preparation class is only part of the package though.

Saskia said today “I will be doing spot coaching in the afternoon to help identify the blocks that stop us from eating the way we really want. This is the other part of the puzzle; we need to identify our attitudes toward food and then shift those attitudes to ones that allow us to eat the way we want. We more often than not eat according to old and outdated patterns that were set in our lives years ago. Once these patterns have been cleared then we can go on to improve all areas of our lives.”

The event is being held in North Bristol and anyone wanting more information should contact Saskia@rawfreedom.co.uk.

Raw Freedom Simplifies The Search For A Viable Alternative To Dairy Based Milk – Almond Milk!

November 17th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

The need for many to find an alternative to dairy based milk is growing as, for many reasons, people are arriving at the conclusion that they need to reduce their dependence on milk and milk products. There are not many real alternatives to milk. The one we all know is Soya Milk but the cartoned packs of this substitute has additives and preservatives that one may not wish to consume. The price can also be prohibitive to some. The ability to make an alternative in the home, as and when required, is refreshing and puts the power back in the hands of the user, stopping the reliance on world producers and exporters.

Raw Freedom, the Bristol based raw food guidance and support company, has produced a short video showing the simple steps involved in the making of this easy alternative to cow’s milk. The founder Ms Saskia Fraser said today “When people want to take control of their diets and therefore their lives, they often come up against the need for alternatives to many mainstream food products; milk is one of the hardest to find an alternative for. The process of making the almond milk quickly becomes part of the daily ritual within family life. We help a lot of people to make changes to their diet through the adoption of a raw food detox diet. This always helps to kick start a profound change in their health and wellbeing. The raw food detox process leads to more energy and vitality. The simple changes people can make to their diet – like Almond milk instead of cow’s milk, are the main stay of what we are trying to achieve, a more balanced approach to diet and lifestyle that allows the person to achieve a greater level of personal empowerment coupled with heightened energy reserves and a healthier body.”

This researcher, having watched the video, intends to try out this as soon as possible. It looks simple and I am assured it is delicious. If we all can do our little bit to bring fresh, nutritious and homemade food into our family lives, then we can start to reduce the dependence on the global producers of food stuffs. That can only be a good thing for the world at large and our own personal health.

World Diabetes Day – November 14th 2009 – Raw Freedom Comments On The Success Of Treating Diabetes With A Raw Food Diet

November 14th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

13th November 2009

It is World Diabetes Day today, Saturday the 14th November 2009. This day of awareness and action on the global problem of rising diabetes has been a yearly event since 1991. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) introduced the day of action in response to the alarming rise in diabetes around the world. In 2007, the UN recognised the Day with the passing of the United Nations World Diabetes Day Resolution in December 2006; this made the existing World Diabetes Day an official UN World Health Day.

The global expenditure on the treatment of this problem is estimated to be at least US$376 billion in 2010. According to the latest figures released by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), diabetes now affects 285 million people worldwide.

There are however rays of hope hidden behind the mainstream view of this disease. Raw Freedom’s founder Ms Saskia Fraser said today “The raising of global awareness of this disease is fantastic. People need to know that they are not alone and others need to know what puts them at risk of developing diabetes. The treatment and management of this condition has mostly been about blood sugar testing and insulin shots. This is not the only way to tackle the problem. There is some amazing research coming out of the USA, done by Gabriel Cousens M.D. His ‘21-Day Reversing Diabetes Program’ has had phenomenal results using Raw Food Detox, green juices and and a raw vegan low glycemic diet. His work is based in science and with his background in mainstream medicine his results can be viewed as more than anecdotal. Anyone that suffers from type 1 or type 2 diabetes could benefit from this research and I urge those people to at least read his book and make an informed decision as to how to manage their own condition.”

The idea that some types of diabetes can be reversed is not a universally accepted truth. The ongoing lifetime of daily insulin shots is the official solution to the problem. This raw food transformative approach to the disease is not, however, new. In the 1920’s a Dr. Gerson M.D. used his raw food diet approach, to treating illness, to cure Albert Schweitzer’s Type II diabetes.

The compelling evidence that exists must surely give pause for thought. If nothing else it is an avenue that should be explored by individuals that have diabetes. If, after careful consideration, it is felt that it is not the right avenue for them, then they should be applauded for their self-empowering stance towards the disease and choose the manner in which they choose to move forward.

So on World Diabetes Day please remember that this disease is on the rise and that there are alternatives to insulin. Always consult a professional regarding all health issues before altering any prescribed treatment. Gather all the information you can from as many sources as you can regarding your situation and then make an empowered choice as to what is the right course of action for you.

Raw Freedom announces A Free Teleseminar About Staying Healthy With A Raw Food Detox This Winter

November 9th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Releases

raw food detox
=9th November 2009=

The Bristol based company Raw Freedom has today announced a free seminar that provides those that attend with all the information they need to stay healthy this winter by eating more raw food. The seminar is telephone based and is orientated around the concept that eating more raw food can boost your health. The call is set for 7pm (GMT) on November the 11th, 2009.

For a lot of us it has been a common feature of autumn and winter to expect colds and illnesses. The falling temperatures seem to bring on the cold bugs and make us ill. This teleseminar is aimed at countering that expectation. The desire to eat warm food and ‘comfort eat’ during cold weather can be detrimental to our health. This information seminar provides, for free, all the information you could need to understand how to eat more raw food in the winter and still be warm and comforted. The raw food detox diet seems to allow better circulation and therefore a real sense of warmth throughout the entire body.

The owner and founder of Raw Freedom, Ms Saskia Fraser, said “Winter doesn’t mean we have to eat unhealthily. The idea that raw food has to be cold and unexciting is a mis-understanding of the concept of raw food. The good bits in food like enzymes and vitamins are only destroyed if the food is cooked at over 40 degrees centigrade. This means that, with some fairly simple techniques, you can eat wholesome, vibrant and extremely healthy food that is warm and comfortating. On this teleseminar I will provide everyone with the inspiration and information to stay healthy this winter. The effects of a raw food detox not only promote better circulation but provide more energy, better skin, hair and nails, and if done in a supported and sustainable way, life enhancing change. There really is no need to have colds and sniffles this winter.”

Ms Fraser has been coaching and guiding people through their personal raw food journeys for over two years. This has put her in a fairly unique position to provide information, encouragement, support and guidance to those wishing to explore better health and wellbeing through raw food and an holistic approach to life.

The idea of a teleseminar is maybe fairly new to some. It is a telphone call that many people are on at the same time. The speaker can talk to all that have registered and are on the call. This concept has seen a rise in popularity over the last few years. It has the distinct advatage that one can attend the seminar from the comfort of your own home. There is a registration process which is quick and simple but once done all you need to do is dial the number and listen in.

There are so few opportunities to have access to all this information. Especially presented in one place by an expert. For all those who are curious about raw food and its detox benefits, particularly in winter, this call has surely got to be a must – especially as its free.

International Raw Food Detox Diet Program Announced by RawFreedom

November 4th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Press Release WS

rawfood
31st October 2009

The Bristol based company, RawFreedom, announced today that it was launching a unique Raw Food Detox Diet Program. The forum and coaching led program has been designed to be an international collaboration of people that want to follow a raw food lifestyle. The aims of the program reach beyond national boundaries so likeminded individuals can communicate with each other whilst transitioning to a more healthy way of eating and living through a raw food diet.

Owner and founder Ms Saskia Fraser said today “The interest in raw food has now reached such proportions that we feel it is time to provide a program for those wanting to become healthier through a more vital and nutritious diet. We have created a supportive space where likeminded individuals can come and receive group coaching around improving your diet. The program has been designed to remove the most often found barrier to change, the lack of support and encouragement from those who have experienced and are experiencing the same process. We have been helping people with their individual raw food journey for over 2 years now and this has given us a unique insight into the obstacles and barriers that people face. We are offering a four week program that has been tailored to remove these obstacles and barriers. The most significant problem we have found is that once the initial excitement has faded, the journey is often disrupted by the lack of access to others in the same position. This is often most apparent in the home and social environments where the pressures of eating raw food around family and friends that are eating cooked food can seem insurmountable. This program has been designed to provide that connection to others in the same situation, no matter where in the world they are located.”

While researching this topic it was found that the information available to many searching for a sustainable way of changing the quality of food consumed is sporadic and in places confusing. Whilst there are some personal blogs and diary type resources it seems that to find a group to help encourage and support each other is quite often a difficult task. One that this researcher found confusing and disorientating.

There is no doubt that the concept of a raw food diet has left the confines of California and the USA but much of the information available is inextricably linked to the foods available in that sunshine state along with the seemingly California based, mindset that accompanies it. As the plethora of research that surrounds this type of eating is so often based on research carried out anecdotally, there is no authoritative resource to go to for the ‘right answer’. This program seems to offer the best of all worlds, a group of self empowered, likeminded people that wish to make changes to their lifestyle, health and diet supporting each other through the process of change and integration. The old adage that ‘many heads are better one’ is surely the most informed way for anyone to investigate such a powerful and, as yet non-mainstream, way of transforming ones health through a raw food detox diet.
